Since the new 120 GB iPod Classic retains the same dimensions of the prior 80 GB version, while improving on battery life, it is a great improvement for those looking to store a decent amount of music. However, for those of us who have a much more considerable amount of music it just doesn’t fit the bill.

I purchased the 120 GB model to replace my 160 GB iPod classic, which met its untimely demise when it fell from a three story deck. I though I might be able to make due with the 120 model, but my library is simply to large and the new model just doesn’t bring anything of value to the table versus the 160 model.

I remain hopeful that a true replacement for the 160 comes soon. I will be returning the 120 and tracking down a 160 while I keep my fingers crossed for something better to come down the pipeline.
