Loved it, especially the voices on the audiobook version. What an amazing story!! No one is suprised by another reader staying up too late to read this; I’m sure. I plan to read the book referred to at by the author: Telling Memories Among Southern Women: Domestic Workers and Their Employers in the Segregated South.
Black Beauty

Twilight is a young adult fiction novel written by Stephanie Meyer. It stars Bella Swan, and her love interest (a vampire) Edward Cullen.
The story begins as with Bella saying a tearful goodbye to her mother, as she begins her journey to the town of Forks to stay with her father. Expecting a thoroughly mundane experience, Bella is surprised to notice a table full of spectacularly good looking teenagers. One of which, is Edward Cullen. Although his initial response to her is less than promising, he slowly warms up to he and eventually falls in love. All of this is happening while he trying desperately not to eat her.
My first qualm with the book is simple. I know nothing about either Bella’s appearance. I think she may have brown hair, and also she is pale. Both of these things are mentioned in the first chapter of the book, and that is the extent of Bella’s appearance. On the other hand, I know a lot about Edward’s appearance. She also goes into great detail describing how he moves, breaths, and kisses.
Perhaps because I know little about her appearance, I shouldn’t be surprised to learn that her personality is never divulged either. The only character traits Bella seems to exhibit with any regularity is shyness, and klutziness. Although Meyer goes to great lengths to explain just how klutzy Bella is, she never relates it to anything outside the scene that is happening. It seems that if a person is that klutzy, after screwing something up they might have flash backs to the last time they screwed something up. Bella seems to only have two emotions throughout the books, one is embarrassed about her klutziness, and the other is completely in love with Edward.
Although the concept of true love conquering all isn’t new, Meyer certainly manages to give it a new twist. Not to say that is a good thing. All in all, this book left me with more questions than answers. The most startling of all being “Who is Bella?”

The biggest problem with this ipod is that you cannot use it as a storage device. This is very frustrating since it has so much storage space.

Men In Black Main

I bought this book because I ran out of things to read. I wandered around the store and noticed how much display this book was given to. I purchased it solely based on its popularity.

I started reading it and had a bit of a hard time moving forward. English is not my native tongue and all the circus talk really made my head spin. I took a short break and finished an easy read and then resumed this book. I am glad I did.

I felt very engaged after 1/3 of the book when most of the characters started to build and show their individual qualities. As the book went on, I felt I was also living in this circus train and witnessing all the activities.

My heart definitely melted when they acquired Rosie, the elephant and at the same time, I started loathing the character August for abusing the elephant so much. In addition to that, the performer Walter/Kinko also transformed into this loving person that looked out after others.

About half way through the book, I think almost all readers wanted nothing more than Jacob and Marlena being together and the death of August and Uncle Al. One thing I do believe a good author offers is the connection between the readers and the characters and I definitely felt that engagement with some of them and my heart ached at times as the story continued.

I am not sure if I am a big fan of the Old Jacob. Not that it is bad but I really just did not quite get why it was important to keep his voice in. I did not see how old Jacob has contributed to the book and I think it could do without.

Overall, I enjoyed the book so much and I was very happy to have resumed and finished it. It is a book that broadens your mind and showers you with all the circus knowledge. A fun and great read!

When we finally got around to buying our first HDTV we were shocked to find the HDMI cable at our local Radio Shack to be $145! It was supposedly the best (Monster brand) but I looked online and found this one and decided to give it a try. By the time it came we had been using the expensive cable for a few days so we had a good idea of how it performed. We plugged the cheaper one in and took the other one back, no difference at all! We saved ourselves over $140! So glad we found this one.
