Wow! Case CaseCrown Hard Mobile

While everyone is entitled to her own story, as a writer as well as an avid reader, I was amazed at how poorly written and executed this novel was. First and foremost, Stockett’s attempt at “dialect” was woefully inauthentic, and just came across as “bad black English.” (Further, I found it interesting that she choose not write in white Mississipian dialect as well, perhaps wanting us to believe that these counterparts somehow spoke proper, standard Engish.) Thematically, the bathroom motif was overused and became downright boring, as well as Hilly’s, the main antagonist’s, strange and ineradicable rottenness. In this regard, I think Stockett went too much for shock rather than a much needed nuance. I did not feel the urgency at the end of the novel, the fact that if the secret was let out about the book, all hell was going to break loose in Jackson, the likes of which had never been experienced.

If anything, what is minutely redeeming about the novel is the like you develop for the main characters: Aibeleen, Skeeter and Minny. I liken this novel to a sitcom where you may not like every episode, but you nevertheless like the actors. However, since this is obviously not one, the novel, in the end, fails.

Just 1 week after I purchased this Kindle .. out came the Wi-Fi kindle for 50.00 less. Then in another week, they had Wi-Fi as well as free 3G for the same money I paid for 3G only. The newer ones have a better button configuration and no longer have the hideous 5 way button that you have to have fingers the size of a pencil to operate. Moving the curser is slow and somewhat unresponsive which is annoying. A touch screen would eliminate this issue. It would be great if they’re going to upgrade these every week if they’d offer a trade-in plan.

This is a very small, sturdy, lightweight and inexpensive camera case, well suited for very small digital cameras. It is not perfect, but at the price point and for the size it’s hard to beat.

One side of the case is reinforced and one can feel that it is designed to be very crush-resistant. This is a good design decision that will help to protect the camera stored within. The other side of the case is softer and less sturdy, though, which puzzles me slightly. If one side is reinforced and “hardened” it makes sense to make the outside half stronger (which is how this case is designed) but strengthening both sides would have made the case a much better protector. It might also have driven the price up a bit too, though.

The inside has two compartments. One is plush and lined with the softest material that will not scratch plastic surfaces, and is ideal for the camera. The other is small and consists of webbing and the case side which is suitable for SD cards or a small battery or two. There is no wasted space inside.

The user has a choice of using the snapping belt strap or the lanyard. It is not a shoulder strap, but appears to be designed with the idea of handing the whole thing around one’s neck instead. The lanyard is removable and can be stored inside.

This is a very small case and that should be kept in mind when shopping for camera cases. It is not at all suitable for any but the smallest of cameras. That said, for the cameras in its target size it’s an excellent case at a great price.

I have just now completed a leisurely reading of “Artemis Fowl”. I loved every page of it, too. Now then, I came here to Amazon in order to boy ALL of the books in the series, but then I discovered that this book is supposed to be a children’s series?!?

What? Well, I think not. I am very much an adult, a retired High School Teacher and the proud father of 4 now-grown kids. My wife and kids tell me that I am really just a grown-up kid, but that is only after I spray someone in the yard with the water hose.

This book is great fantasy/adventure reading for adults. Sure, there are some trite phrases, and a decided lack of sex and violence — well, except “cartoon-style” violence … so, OK, I guess it is a “G Rated” book. Personally I am happy with “G” Ratings.

Forthwith I am ordering all books featuring Artemis Fowl and his adventures. The author writes very much in the same vein as Talbot Mundy — a young person’s adventure writer of some years past. I liked it and I am looking forward to reading the rest of Master Fowl’s adventures.

I used the cable to connect a dvi to hdmi adapter from my mac book pro to my HD TV. The MacBook recognized the TV as an external monitor immediately. Hassle-free product – I’m happy to recommend this.

The HDMI cable did not work.
At the price it was offered, my quality expectations were rather low. This time I guess I lucked out.
The cable simply does not transmit any signal.

The battery life leaves a lot to be desired when connected to wifi. (Two stars.)

All that’s included with the Touch is a USB cable, some kind of adapter thing for using it with an ipod compatible “boom box”, and two Apple logos (why, I don’t know). For what they charge they could have easily included a wall-charger and a car-charger. (no stars)

The only interface with Windows is through iTunes. iTunes works OK, but why not allow drag/drop from Windows Explorer? It would make the Touch much easier to deal with. (no stars)

When I received it from Amazon, it was in a box with no packing material whatsoever. It was flopping around in the box! It seems to be OK though. (no stars)

Do what you want, no guilt, nothing is right or wrong. No commitments, just feel good. Tired of your partner? Just get a new one. Everyone else is okay unless they’re trying to get you to do something you don’t want to do.

This moral relativism is leading our society down the path of decline. Whether you are a Jew, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu or agnostic, life is enhanced by some self-discipline and guts to stand for something. There is good and evil in the world, right and wrong. If we don’t stand up for it, we’ll descend into a pile of garbage. This is a rehash of the 60’s philosophy of do your own thing, free sex, drugs, feel good, it doesn’t hurt any one but me. These are all lies that degrade our society. If you don’t believe it, teach school for a while. See the hippy grandchildren paying the price for the selfish drug induced excess of their parents and grandparents. We’ve been there done that. It wasn’t very pretty. I didn’t buy it then and I’m not buying it now.

Give me individuals who believe in hard work, discipline, saving rather than spending, community service, a view that goes beyond their own noses and pleasures. That’s what makes a society and its people great. Get out and do something for someone and most the neurotic worries about self will disappear. That’s what is basic to all major religions. They have survived for millennia because they work and will long outlast Mr. Walsch. I’m far from perfect, but I know wisdom when I see it. This isn’t it.
